Ch Graville-Lacoste, Graves Blanc 2021
I wish I knew why white Bordeaux, especially Graves, isn't more popular. This very attractive and keenly priced example is made by true perfectionist Hervé Dubourdieu from his 13 hectare Graville-Lacoste estate (one of three properties owned by the family in Graves and Sauternes). Vinified and aged in stainless steel, it's aromatic (helped by the Muscadelle), dry and lively, with quite forward fresh citrus fruit from the Sauvignon combined with more depth and richness from the Semillon and mineral complexity on the finish. A surprisingly versatile white for food.
