Maximin Grunhaus 'Schloss' Gutswein Trocken Riesling 2023
This historic estate, with a wine-making history dating back to Roman times, takes its name from the Benedictine Abbey of Saint Maximin which owned the land for centuries. More recently it's been owned by the von Schubert family since the late 1800s, currently run by Carl, the fifth generation. This is fermented 50/50 in stainless steel and large oak casks with wonderful citrus freshness and mineral poise and a very subtle ripe sweetness, a surprisingly versatile wine.
