Cannonau di Sardegna 'Bantu', Jerzu 2022

 The Antichi Poderi Jerzu co-operative takes its name from the remote village of Jerzu in Ogliastra in eastern Sardinia. Cannonau is better known in France and around the world as Grenache but is very much at home in a Mediterranean island like Sardinia. This has violets and forest fruit on the nose then lots of soft, ripe red fruit and some gentle tannin: a warming, approachable wine.
