Loubere Bas-Armagnac 'Napoleon'
Alain Loubère was a trialist for the French rugby team in his youth and a keen participant in the traditional Gascony courses landaises, bull-fighting competitions but with cows which are always unharmed. He also makes excellent, truly 'artisanal' brandy in Labastide at the heart of the Bas Armagnac region. The 'Napoléon' spends three years in new oak barrels before being transferred to older ones and is floral and delicately spiced, with notes of warm raisined fruit, almond and a touch of vanilla and ginger.
